5739 What do I do? How well do I do it? What am I looking for? Resume I'm a former Manager of Application Development for ING and technical associate from Credit Suisse First Boston on the permanent side, currently freelancing and outsourcing various portal development projects from Newmark Knight Frank in the Real Estate Sector. I launched the first Clarion Partners intranet and the first Estee Lauder intranet, as well as the first browser based electronic forms processing and workflow application for the New York City Law Department. I have worked on a project basis for large enterprises for nearly a decade, including ING Real Estate (ING Clarion Partners), the New York City Law Department, the Estee Lauder Companies, Credit Suisse First Boston, Newmark Knight Frank Global Real Estate Advisors, Koch Records, i-Deal (partnership between Merrill Lynch, Salomon Smith Barney, Microsoft, Thompson Financial) and many others including 1iota Productions, MTV, VH1, ABC and the NFL. I have broad IS and IT consulting experience from numerous engagements, including the Entertainment, Retail, Government, Real Estate and Finance sectors. I've had a wonderful and rewarding career journey since May of 1997. That's when I graduated Summa Cum Laude and Outstanding Graduating Senior in MIS with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. My concentrations were in Marketing, Management Science and Information Systems (MIS) and I minored in Computer Science at the State University of New York, in Albany. Today, as a Microsoft Partner and Software Advisor and internet guru with a well-architected, reusable code base and an amazing, current body of organized research, I'm a freelance web developer or tinkering with my own product line. As a well rounded businessman and technologist, in every one of my consulting engagements and freelance projects, I help CIOs, business managers, entrepreneurs, marketers, publishers and their teams define and deliver real solutions to real problems or in many instances can outsource entire web development projects. Combining industry standards and best practices, such as separation of presentation and content, valid HTML/XHTML/XML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX with Microsoft tools such as Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, .Net, SQL Server, ASP.Net, VB.Net, C#.Net, SQL Server databases, Web Parts and Web Services, I build websites, intranets, extranets, portals, content management solutions and collaboration workspaces including Windows SharePoint Services, SharePoint Portal Server and the open source DotNetNuke (DNN) community web portal. I can meet your every need technologically. I can also handle requirements analysis, design, technical writing and documentation along with application development, testing, maintenance and both technical and non-technical training in formal or informal teaching environments. I frequently wear the infrastructure and operations hat and manage physical and virtual server builds, imaging, hardening/security and have worked extensively with Active Directory and the ever-challenging problems of provisioning in IT and managing organizational and enterprise directory information and single-sign on. From a business perspective, I have worked closely with HR, Finance, Accounting, Marketing and Business Intelligence groups and gained the insights that allow me to anticipate problems and create opportunities for these business units through practical experience with collaboration, workflow, and process improvement. I work closely with end users, middle and senior managers as well as developers, operations and 3rd party vendors to tie projects together, keep the focus on the mission and deliver projects on time, within budget. In summary, I am a very senior consultant who's experience spans infrastructure and operations, enterprise application architecture, database design modeling and implementation, application development methodologies and development team leadership.

What do I do? How well do I do it? What am I looking for? Resume I am an internet specialist, a seasoned project and team leader and an architect of technology solutions to business problems. I have been leading web database application, portal and e-commerce initiatives for over 8 years on both a permanent and corp. to corp. consulting basis. My primary focus is on improving the speed and accuracy of information flows throughout organizations between them and their customers and vendors. I focus on process and seek to inject technology where appropriate, to reuse organizational knowledge and preserve organizational memory. I'm focused on making it easier for people to do their jobs, automating the tasks that can be automated and simplifying those which can't be fully automated, but can improve the operating efficiency of knowledge workers. I'm also focused on improving the bottom line by reducing costs through greater efficiency, and where marketing and e-commerce are involved, I'm focused on increasing the top line through integrated marketing communication efforts. Behind or in front of the firewall, I help my clients to fully realize their business objectives efficiently and cost-effectively in their application development efforts across the full process improvement and software development life cycle: discovery and analysis (inception), design (elaboration), implementation (construction), testing and maintenance (transition). My internet projects and legacy technology roles have run the gamut over the
past ten years. From mainframe to client-server to the web, I've
performed business and system requirements analysis, data and process
modeling, system and application architecture and integration, application
development, configuration management, tool and vendor evaluations,
relationship management, implementations and rollouts, performance
measurement, technical writing and system
evolution. Inception I begin by formulating and understanding the strategic vision and scope for technology initiatives and then fully capturing and clearly expressing all functional and technical requirements. To accomplish this, I work closely with management, users and other project stakeholders to understand, map and measure business processes, existing systems and environments. Through joint application development sessions, interviews and meetings, I encourage and facilitate the communication necessary to ensure that any technology solution is completely aligned with business objectives and that all stakeholders have input and buy-in. Elaboration Armed with a comprehensive understanding of the business and functional requirements for systems, I bridge the gap between business and technology by drafting technical requirements and architectural, application and data design alternatives. I serve in the roles of, or lead, analysts, architects, data modelers and developers. Alternatives are reviewed with stakeholders and technologists, strengths and weaknesses are evaluated so solutions can be selected, cost estimated and time-lined. These blueprints serve as the foundation models for the remainder of the software development life cycle. Construction Development is performed rapidly and iteratively with prototype demonstrations and feedback from project stakeholders at established milestones. Throughout this process, I can lead manage a project’s resources, budget and timeline as well as the implementation effort, change and configuration management during build, package and deployment. Project leadership often requires that I get my hands “dirty” by establishing the development environment, development standards or performing database management, development, code reviews, quality assurance and release management. Transition Finally, I help transfer knowledge to the maintainers of the system and train the trainers in the application to ensure seamless adoption and ongoing success. How well do I do it? What do I do? What am I looking for? ResumeI've led successful technology projects, hands-on for:
I have a proven track record of providing hands-on leadership in successful technology projects over the full project lifecycle, from inception to evolution. These experiences have provided me with the "in the bones" knowledge and technical credibility to lead project teams hands-on and to deliver success. I believe leaders must not only talk the talk...they must also walk the walk. Past clients will tell you that I'm self-motivated, proactive and I always get the job done. My value proposition lies in my ability to bridge the business, people and technology aspects of each engagement. What am I looking for? What do I do? How well do I do it? ResumeSignificant leadership responsibilities, high priority, high visibility and longer term (6-18 month) engagements are preferred. Please don't hesitate to approach me with your individual needs...We'll know each other when we find each other! I'm open to corp. to corp., right to hire or direct placement opportunities. Take care of yourself, be well and if you'd like to contact me, I look forward to discussing your needs! Be sure to have a look at my resume first.
